ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS MAIN STREET SIDEWALK, RETAINING WALL & STORM SEWER CONSTRUCTION

The City of Bromley in conjunction with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is accepting competitive sealed bids for the Main Street Sidewalk, Retaining Walls and Storm Sewer Construction Project until Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 am (EST). All bids shall be in a sealed envelope, mailed or delivered to: City of Bromley Mayor's Office, 226 Boone St, Bromley, Kentucky 41016. All bid envelopes shall be clearly marked "Main Street Sidewalk Project" in the bottom left corner of the envelope. The bids will be opened in a public forum at 11 am (EST).

Plans and Specifications will be available for pickup/mailing via CD from Palmer Engineering, 224 Grandview Drive, Suite 100, Fort Mitchell, Kentucky 41017, 859-344-6100.

A pre-bid meeting will not be held for this project.

Bidders and subcontractors must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at time of bid opening.  All other subcontractors must be prequalified when accepting subcontracts.

Minimum wages apply to this project. A 5% Bid Bond is required with the contractors bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a payment and performance bond in the amount of 100% of the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and accept the Lowest Responsive and Responsible Bidder. No BIDDER may withdraw his/her bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof

Invitation to Bid on Waste Collection Services

The City of Bromley Kentucky is seeking sealed bids for waste collection services. A three year contract with a one year extension is desired. Current waste collection is twice a week. We are seeking to remove a collection day and replace with recycling,. All bids should include a free large waste pickup day on the second Saturday of May. There are approximately 362 units. Bids will be opened at the next council meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 6:00 p.m The deadline to receive bids is Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Send bids to: City of Bromley, Attn. Waste Bids, 226 Boone St. Bromley, KY 41016. The lowest and best bid will be accepted but the City has the right to refuse any and all bids.

Invitation to Bid on Demolition and Replacement of Curbs

Is now accepting sealed bids to be opened at the November 7, 2018 regular council meeting (6:00 p. M.) For the following: Pike and hayward street project improvements.

Demolition and replacement of approximately 190’ of curb on the south side of pike street starting at the intersection of rohman street heading west on pike street to short street. New curb installation approximately 90’ from short street intersection heading west on the south side of pike street.

New curb installation approximately 330’ from rohman street intersection heading west on the north side of pike street. New curb installation approximately 36’ from hayward alley heading west on the south side of pike street to a catch basin.

Demolition of east end entrance section of hayward street and install a new entrance section with a wide apron from roadway for large trucks entering the street.

Specifications for Concrete Work:

Curbs: The new curbs will be 6” high x 6” wide and approximately 18” below grade. Excavate to a depth of 18” approximately. Install gravel base material then form and pour 4,000 psi ae concrete, strip forms and face street side of curb. Sawcut control joints at approximately 10’ on center. Backfill curb with topsoil then seed and straw.

Street entrance: Demolition and disposal of all concrete and soil in excavation areas. Install a tapered 14’ x 31’ section with compacted gravel base material. Form and pour 4,000 psi ae concrete 8” thick for apron with a commercial broom finish and sawcut control joints.

Payment draws: Will be 50% upon commencement of project and 50% upon completed work and signed off by a city official. Winning contractor must provide proof of insurance and be approved by the city before starting any work.
